Bangor 10k

On Saturday saw the annual running of the very popular Bangor 10k. The race is part of The Cinema Coffee 10k Grand Prix race series. The race starts in Castle Park near the front of the Town Hall and finishes in Ward Park. The race has attracted Olympians such as Paul Pollock and marathon Champion Laura Graham, local athletes, new athletes and wheelchair participants in the past.

EDAC had three athletes hitting the roads around Bangor, it is a flat course with a short hill at 9k, making its way through the town centre along the coast road to Groomsport and back to ward Park. Jacob Crawford was first home, Jacob has been in great form of late and put in a PB run of 36 min 40 sec. Coach Paul Burns was next in and will be happy with his time of 38 min 33 sec after some injury issues, always good to get back on the road. Aine Grant was the only EDAC lady on the start line, Aine prefers the 5k but stepped up to the longer distance and put in a time of 55 min 39 sec. Some great running against some strong competition.
